The Enterprise-D took the crew on their missions for the entire series and the first movie for the series, Star Trek: Generations. Unfortunately it was unceremoniously retired, translation: destroyed. In its day, the D was the most powerful ship in Starfleet and served as its flagship. It was part of the Galaxy class of ships developed in the 24th century.
