Treize Khusrenada has this Gundam built for close combat and has it installed with a version of the mind-warping Zero System. Finding no future for himself when piloting it, he hands it over to Heero. Heero uses it for a time before handing it over to Zechs and taking the Wing Zero. Zechs seems more suited to the Gundam built by Treize. Epyon is equipped with a heat whip, a powerful beam saber feeding directly from Epyon, and is capable of transforming to a flight mode.
